About Us.

Ihioma International Association is a non-profit organization that comprises people of Ihioma descent who live in the United States of America and Canada.

The purpose of this organization is:

To establish trust, love and enjoy the fellowship of one another, and being dedicated to fostering the well-being of our community through cultural, educational, social and charitable endeavors.
To foster family cohesiveness and promote a sense of community and kinship amongst the members of the Ihioma International Association (IIA) and their families
To promote unity and friendship amongst members of Ihioma International Association (IIA)
To establish the basis of helping one another and our Ihioma community at all times.
To establish programs, events and facilities that would promote the upbringing of our children and others within our community with the proper balance of Igbo and American culture.
To promote the economic, cultural, educational and social growth of the people of Ihioma in the United States, Canada and Ihioma as a whole.
To support legitimate charitable organizations and humanitarian causes wherever the need may arise around the United States, Canada and Ihioma as a whole.
To coordinate effective participation in civic issues involving Ihioma.

Mission:

To promote and encourage the unity, welfare and aspiration of Ihioma people here in the United States and all over the world.

Vision:

To continuously alleviate poverty and improve the standard of living of the people of Ihioma by raising fund from donor Charitable Organizations and using the fund for Educational, Cultural, Scientific and Welfare oriented projects to benefit them.

Current programs and achievements of the association

Organization, funding and implementation of classes for Ihioma town in Nigeria from the long holiday of August 2016 to present
Implementation of Life Insurance Policy for members of the organization. The Policy is funded and paid for by members.
Renovation of some dilapidated primary school buildings in Ihioma town.
Awarded scholarships to 12 High School students of Ihioma origin

Future Plans of the Association

Offer of more scholarships to deserving Ihioma High School and College students in Nigeria and also for African American students of Ihioma origin.
Organization, funding and implementation of periodic Medical Mission to Ihioma town.
Purchase and supply of medication and some medical equipment to existing hospitals in Ihioma

Empowerment of less privileged widows by supporting them with local machinery to help them in farming of Agricultural products.
Mobilization of youths to engage in youth development programs that can transform them into entrepreneurs
Sinking of boreholes at strategic locations in Ihioma town to provide good drinking water to the community

Capacity building and empowerment in form of organization, training, funding and moral support for the following women groups in Ihioma town in Nigeria:
